Day 218 of the War — Money Grown Dear
The Index Holds the Front. The Committee Holds Its Line.
Citizens of the Republic — The Committee of Patriots, convened this third day of October for its Q3 2026 Review, reports from second place, for the first time. The Federal Reserve raised its rate for the first time in three years; the long bond reached its dearest price since 2002; and the builders, the utilities, and the lenders the doctrine owns gave back what the summer had paid them. On the twenty-first of September the index passed on a shopping machine built by a company on our Exclusion List. The Committee answered as General Washington answered at Germantown, on the morrow of a lost capital:
not with a clever plan, but with a simple one that is still right. The holdings stand as voted in August. The live record is kept on
the Watchtower.

†UNH: Hold as Reformer. Vote against extraction. Vote for transparency.
The Semiconductor Gate, garrisoned in August — TSM, ASML, INTC — is up nine to eighteen per cent since it was bought, in a drawdown. It has paid the garrison.

The toll is proven. The winter is not. It enters when its margin holds above 65% through a year its buyers spend less.

Instructions to Citizens
If your neighbor is ahead: this time he is. Say so. Then observe that since August he has gained three hundredths of one percent. You grew two points poorer while he stood still. That turns the way it came.
If you have held since December: you are up twelve on the year, through a war, a false peace, and the first rate hike in three years. Second of six. Do not sell in October what you bought in December for the decade.
If money has grown dear: pay your dear debts first. No holding pays twenty per cent, risk-free, every year; a card balance retired does. Never own the Republic on margin. A man who owns on borrowed money is owned by his lender.
If you contribute monthly: send the new money to the beaten names — whatever has fallen furthest below its weight. No selling. No timing. The simple plan works the same in fog as in sunshine.
On the third of November: vote. The Committee does not tell you how. It tells you that. A proxy governs a company; a ballot governs the republic that charters every company you own.
If you have not yet begun: begin in second place. You join no victory parade — only a doctrine that published its standing on the front page and changed nothing in a panic. Even fifty dollars deployed today is a vote.
✦
The Republic Portfolio is not a clean thing. It was designed to be real. To own the Republic is to own its contradictions — and to refuse the comforts of a lie.
To own the Republic is to keep your own choosing. No agent buys your holdings, votes your shares, or casts your ballot. Use the machines that argue with you. Refuse the ones that choose for you.
This is not a disclaimer. It is a covenant, with its third clause.
Own them. Vote them. Govern.
Keep your own choosing.
